When & Where I Became a Christian:

I accepted Christ in VBS at Ovilla Rd Baptist Church around age 10 and recommitted my life at 25 yrs. of age, at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

 

My Family:

I come from a very strong, Christian family. My dad and mom raised us in church and instilled God’s love in us every day. My dad passed away 20 years ago but it seems like yesterday. My mom and younger brother still reside in our childhood home.

 

Regular Order at My Favorite Coffee Shop:  

Venti Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso with an extra shot (that makes 5!)

 

People That Inspire Me:

Anyone that shows God’s love to people and animals!

 

Weird Quirks: I have to smell everything I eat before putting it in my mouth, and I cannot stand stepping barefooted in anything wet! Except the ocean – that is incredible!

 

Least favorite thing to do:

Clean house and wash clothes

 

What Makes Me Laugh:

My friends and their crazy antics and my own crazy life!

 

Favorite Movies:

Musicals – Sound of Music is my fave! - and all of the Avengers movies.

 

Favorite Scripture:

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

 

Favorite Music/Band/Singers:  

TobyMac, Crowder, all Christian Music, 70’s and 80’s rock bands

When & Where I Became a Christian?

I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 11 years old as my parents were going through a divorce. My mom and I became members of Hillcrest Baptist Church and we were both baptized shortly after. ‍

 

My Family:  

Twice divorced, mom of two, and dog mom-life may have had its plot twists, but family, faith, and love keep me grounded. ‍

 

Regular order at my favorite coffee shop:

My regular at 7Brew is their Iced Blondie.

 

People that inspire me:

My Dad and anyone that puts their ideas and dreams to a reality ‍

 

Weird Quirks:

I can be generally weird at times.

 

Least Favorite Thing to Do:

Wash the dishes

 

What Makes Me Laugh:

Kids laughing having a good time, animals, dad jokes

 

Favorite Movies:

War Room. Elf, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean

 

Favorite Scripture:

 "Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

 

Favorite Music/Band/Singers:

TobyMac, MercyMe, Casting Crowns, 80's music, classic rock. There really isn't a genre that I don't listen to.

Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy, The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy

When & were I became a Christian?

I became a Christian at a very young age. Around 7 or 8 years old, I remember being baptized and completely understanding after, that that signified a dedicated life to Christ.

 

My family:

I have been blessed with two beautiful children. Now 29 year old son and 22 year old daughter. They are my world. I was married for close to 12 years until the unexpected passing of my husband, their dad. Changed our lives forever.

 

Regular order at my favorite coffee shop:

Matcha Green Tea Latte

 

People that inspire me:

My mom, may she rest in peace. My pastor’s wife Serita Jakes. And women who succeed in the face of adversity.

 

Weird quirks:

Hate toilets and for my hands to be sticky.

 

Least favorite thing to do:

Trying to reach things up high (I am vertically challenged lol)

 

What makes me laugh:

Young children, funny animal videos, and AFV (America’s Funniest Home Videos)

 

Favorite movies:

Jumping The Broom, Think Like A Man, The Proposal, Something’s Gotta Give, A Christmas Carol and more…

 

Favorite scripture:

When & where I became a Christian?

I grew up in and was very active in church as a youth-that’s where my Christian journey began.

 

My family:

I have an incredibly smart and equally hilarious daughter.

 

Regular order at my favorite coffee shop:

Iced caramel macchiato with 4 packs of Splenda stirred in

 

People that inspire me:

Micropreemies and their support systems, and those not defined by their past

 

Weird quirks:

I don’t like to walk bare footed or with only socks on.

 

Least favorite thing to do:

Go to the post office.

 

What makes me laugh:

My daughter’s humor and sarcasm

My family:

Single mom to one amazing young adult.  We're a strong little family on our own with a larger extended family who consistently backs us up.

 

Regular order at your favorite coffee shop:

Usually, just a good strong cup at home is good and more economical.

 

People that inspire me:

People that have a testimony of the miracles God has done in their lives, in spite of adversity, and those who have suffered grief and still live fulfilling lives.

 

Weird quirks:

I'm just a quirky person, overall! Least favorite thing to do: Laundry, especially putting laundry away

 

What makes me laugh:

Children, animals, people who say funny things

 

Favorite Movies:

Sound of Music, Sahara, Return to Me, Pride & Prejudice (with Matthew Macfadyen)

Psalm 18, Psalm 61:2, Isaiah 61:1-3

It's safe to say I can probably find a favorite in almost any genre.
